Virat a lot like dada, has made group more expressive’: Zaheer Khan

New Delhi: By making introduction under Sourav Ganguly to playing MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Zaheer is among the very few players to play with under the captaincy of all these players.

The former pace bowler considers that there is not any doubt that this team under Virat Kohli has one of the best bowling attacks in the world cricket and said that the current Indian skipper is very like Sourav Ganguly.

Virat is a lot like dada (Ganguly), he is expressive, bold in his decisions and constantly pumps the team up through crunch scenarios. His sublime batting form is always reflective of the way he leads the team on discipline.

I want to see him lift the World Cup for India daily,” said Khan in a meeting to information bureau IANS.

“These are exciting times to be a quick bowler in India. The likes of Bumrah, Shami, Ishant, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Navdeep Saini among others have shown that the present Indian team is a powerhouse of bowling and it is by far the best bowling attack in the world,” he explained.

“It seems fantastic as a fast bowler and I hope they continue putting in the hard work and take care of the rhythm that has seen them attain results,” he added.

Talking about the captaincy of Ganguly and Dhoni, Zaheer explained,”Sourav forced us think that we may win manages and motivated us to perform with a great deal of aggression. Dhoni was calm through tough circumstances, yet competitive in his approach. We won the World Cup beneath himso it was always quite unique playing under his direction.”

He also talked about Jasprit Bumrah and said that the pacer is’extremely talented’.

“I have tracked Jasprit’s progress as a very young age. Since his early days with Mumbai Indians, he was extremely gifted and I am pleased as to how over the years he’s been in a position to nurture himself well and brought out some stellar performances because of his team,” he explained.

“His awkward activity has worked well for me , I feel he just has to continue working on his fitness and maintain evolving without putting too much pressure on himself,” Khan added.

Talking about Rohit Sharma, Khan said that considering that the batsman’s present form, it had been crucial to draft him into the XI.

“You can not actually keep a player of his quality from the playing XI, especially after the sort of form he’s shown in the previous six months. We will need to wait and see if he’s got the abilities although I don’t have any doubts,” he explained.

Should We Win the T20 World Cup, then All of the noise will die down: Chahal

Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has conceded that if India win the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia a year ago, then the sound surrounding the group will probably be extinguished.’ I would like to last for 5-6 years. I need to succeed one World Cup. I think that the way we have been playing and how our staff is shaping up currently, its a favorable sign,’ he said in the 10th edition of India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit.

We won in New Zealand, Australia and West Indies and when we win the T20 World Cup next year, all of the sound will die down.

The World Cup weight loss loss to New Zealand in July still fresh in his head, Chahal said that he fought to hold his tears back after MS Dhoni.

Chasing 240, Chahal walked into bat after Dhoni dropped in the 49th over against New Zealand from the rain-affected semi-final which India lost by 18 runs.

Dhoni stitched a 116-run rack with Ravindra Jadeja to get India shut once they were tottering at 92 for 6 months at one stage. But Dhoni’s dismissal, operate out on 50, crushed India’s hopes of reaching the last.

‘It had been my first World Cup and when Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) got out and that I was heading into (to bat), I was hoping to hold back my tears. It was depressing.’

We played well for nine matches but suddenly we were going out of the tournament. Rain was not in our palms and thus it won’t be appropriate to say anything (about the interruption). It had been the very first time that we actually wished to go back to the hotel after you can from the floor.’

Asked about his omission, Chahal stated his sole occupation was to work hard and perform rather than consider selection. ‘Your job will be to perform. If we (Kuldeep Yadav and me) arrived we performed very well. After IPL, our seat power has got fairly powerful too. If the team management is attempting fantastic talent, it is great that you know there is competition and you need to work harder. You can’t steer clear of cricket,’ Chahal stated.
