Virat a lot like dada, has made group more expressive’: Zaheer Khan
New Delhi: By making introduction under Sourav Ganguly to playing MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Zaheer is among the very few players to play with under the captaincy of all these players.
The former pace bowler considers that there is not any doubt that this team under Virat Kohli has one of the best bowling attacks in the world cricket and said that the current Indian skipper is very like Sourav Ganguly.
“Virat is a lot like dada (Ganguly), he is expressive, bold in his decisions and constantly pumps the team up through crunch scenarios. His sublime batting form is always reflective of the way he leads the team on discipline.
I want to see him lift the World Cup for India daily,” said Khan in a meeting to information bureau IANS.
“These are exciting times to be a quick bowler in India. The likes of Bumrah, Shami, Ishant, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Navdeep Saini among others have shown that the present Indian team is a powerhouse of bowling and it is by far the best bowling attack in the world,” he explained.
“It seems fantastic as a fast bowler and I hope they continue putting in the hard work and take care of the rhythm that has seen them attain results,” he added.
Talking about the captaincy of Ganguly and Dhoni, Zaheer explained,”Sourav forced us think that we may win manages and motivated us to perform with a great deal of aggression. Dhoni was calm through tough circumstances, yet competitive in his approach. We won the World Cup beneath himso it was always quite unique playing under his direction.”
He also talked about Jasprit Bumrah and said that the pacer is’extremely talented’.
“I have tracked Jasprit’s progress as a very young age. Since his early days with Mumbai Indians, he was extremely gifted and I am pleased as to how over the years he’s been in a position to nurture himself well and brought out some stellar performances because of his team,” he explained.
“His awkward activity has worked well for me , I feel he just has to continue working on his fitness and maintain evolving without putting too much pressure on himself,” Khan added.
Talking about Rohit Sharma, Khan said that considering that the batsman’s present form, it had been crucial to draft him into the XI.
